The Biggest Gainer...

Dad here. Bela has finally achieved her 5 kilo weight goal! The cardiologist said that we should celebrate, so I have booked a room at St. Joes for an indefinate period of time starting this Tuesday. They provide complementary soft drinks, with great crushed ice and terrible cafeteria dining. The surgery is on track for Wednesday. They have scheduled Bela with the surgeon's for the entire day. Needless to say Avery is a little emotional and I try and mask it by working and eating. We are now trying to prepare emotionally and spiritually for this long awaited procedure. Many of you have expressed prayers and concern thinking the surgery was this week. We know come Tuesday and Wednesday Avery and I will need the prayers as much as Bela. As many of you can imagine we look forward to this surgery because Bela's heart can not continue much longer without it, but can't stomach the unknown. We have faith in the plan of salvation and trust that whatever is supposed to happen will, but with that said its hard. We love our Bela and can't stand to think about the pain she will once again endure.

We appreciate all the love and support.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Please know we admire your strength through all of this. When Zach was there in July we were able to give the nurse supervisor a list of the nurses we especially liked. . .she made sure whenever that nurse was working, we were able to have him/her care for Zach. We also named a primary nurse for Zach, and that one nurse cared for him every time she worked. It helped to have a little control over the consistency of care. Take care. Amy

We will be saying many prayers for you all as you prepare to take Bela in. I know how hard it is to give your baby to the surgeons and trust that Heavenly Father will watch over her. Thinking of you both, Bela and Benson this week!!

Tanner, thank you for starting off this post with a little sense of humor. It's good to have a little of that at a time like this.
Sweet Bela will definitely be in my prayers. I continue to check on her progress and am amazed at your family's strength. Hang in there. She is quite the fighter!
Love,
Megan

Avery, I have been thinking of you all the time lately. I know how hard it is the days before surgery, but I also know that Heavenly Father will be with you, Tanner, Benson and Bela to strengthen you and comfort you. Please know that we are praying for you and the surgeons and I know that the Lord will guide them to repair Bela's little heart. I am sure that Eden is watching closely over her dear friend and I am sure she will be with her on Wednesday. We love you!

As Polly Anna would says Think only Happy Thoughts. I know kind of dumb, but it really works. We will keep Bela in our hearts and prayers. May the saviour give you and the Bela the strength to get through this time. We will also pray that the doctors will know just what to do when they see little Belas heart.
